MGM to Launch Real-Money Online Casino and Poker Platform in nj
MGM Resorts Overseas announced Wednesday it will launch an online casino and poker site within the New Jersey market under the playMGM brand.
As New Jersey’s online gambling market goes from power to strength, MGM is set to launch its playMGM real-money platform in the state later on in 2010.
The casino giant said it had entered into an agreement with UK-listed GVC, which will offer the software for the platform. No certain time frame has been set for the launch, apart from that it is due to happen ‘this year.’
It represents MGM’s first foray into real-money online gaming under its brand name, although, as owner of this Borgata, it has already been providing casino that is online poker with GVC via theborgata.com.
MGM was not a new player in Atlantic City when New Jersey regulated and legalized online gambling in late 2013.
Whilst it was a joint-owner of the Borgata, with Boyd Gaming, it had opted to offer up its license in Atlantic City after the nj raised concerns about the company’s partnership with Pansy Ho in the MGM Grand Macau, whose father the regulator suspected of having links to your Triads.
